Rome ! Eh oui, après une virée en Hollande chez Office Depot pour un entretien (ils s’intéressent à mes compétences de copywriter, comme on dit en français), et un détour par Paris pour une autre interview pour des missions de guide touristique, me voici à Rome depuis le week-end dernier. La CIA et les services secrets de mon beau pays le savent sûrement déjà. Donc voici les premières photos de cette année romaine, prises au fil des rues du quartier historique: de la place Navone à la Fontaine Trevi, en passant par la place du peuple. Ces photos ont été prises avec le logiciel Leme Cam pour Iphone.
Rome! After a trip to Holland to the Office Depot headquarters for an interview (they are interested in my copywriting skills), and to Paris for another interview to be a tour guide, here I am in Rome (I arrived last weekend). The CIA and the intelligence services of my beautiful country knew that already of course. So here are the first pictures of this Roman year, taken in the streets of the historic district: from the Piazza Navona to the Trevi Fountain and the place of the people. These photos were taken with the Cam Leme app for Iphone.

Demain, départ pour Venlo, en Hollande. Puis Rotterdam, Paris, Rome. Le parcours logique, quoi. Ah Rome ! J’adore cette ville. J’y étais en janvier 2006 et si je me souviens de quelque chose c’est de la lumière incroyable qui baignait la ville de ses tons orangés, d’un bélier amateur de palmiers, du Forum Romanum, des pizzas à pâte fine, de statues qui feraient rougir un touriste américain. J’habitais à quelques pas du Vatican, où le Pape tenait un discours et la Befana partait faire un tour jusqu’à l’année d’après: « La befana vien di notte con le scarpe tutte rotte col cappello alla romana: Viva viva la Befana! » Ci-dessous quelques photos que j’avais prises et un t-shirt créé pour l’occasion, en vente dans ma boutique.
Tomorrow I’ll be on my way to the Venlo, in the Netherlands, then Rotterdam, Paris, Rome. The obvious route. Rome! I love this city. I went to Rome in January 2006 et if I remember something, it’s the incredible orangey light, the palmtree eating ram, the Forum Romanum, the amazing thin crusted pizzas and statues that would embarrass an American tourist (you know that nothing embarrasses Europeans, right?). I lived close to the Vatican, where the Pope was giving his speech, after the Befana’s departure: »La befana vien di notte con le scarpe tutte rotte col cappello alla romana: Viva viva la Befana! » See below pictures I took in Rome and a t-shirt I’ve created to celebrate Italy, available in my online shop.

Fêtes du Village de Rosselle (Petite et Grande-Rosselle) / French-German Town Fairs

Comme tous les ans, début septembre, Petite-Rosselle, en France, et Grande-Rosselle, en Allemagne (Grossrosseln pour les intimes), fêtent ensemble dans la rue qui relie les 2 villes. Assis dans une des nombreuses buvette devant l’ancien poste frontière recyclé en poste sanitaire de la Croix Rouge, nous avons trinqué à l’amitié franco-allemande. Ici, lorsqu’on dit « En rentrant en Allemagne à droite », on se comprend…
As they do every year, at the beginning of September, Petite-Rosselle, France, and Grossrosseln, Germany, have celebrated together on the street that links the two cities. Sitting at one of the many watering holes, next to the former frontier post, which is used today as a Red Cross medical station, we offered a toast to Franco-German friendship. Around here, when we say « When you enter Germany, it’s on your right-hand side », we know what’s meant…
