Après Oaxaca, j’ai fait un tour à Puerto Escondido en taxi collectif par la montage (7 heures, paysages superbes), mais comme je n’ai vraiment pas aimé (mer violente, restaurants désertés, chaleur écrasante, boutiques à touristes désolantes), je suis bien vite retournée à Oaxaca. En revanche, j’ai apprécié Monte Alban, qui, d’après Wikipedia (oui bon, je suis pressée) est un important site archéologique qui a connu son apogée lors de la période zapotèque entre 200 et 600 après J.-C. mais qui aurait été fondé par le peuple olmèque. Il est situé à 10 km de la ville d’Oaxaca (État d’Oaxaca) au Mexique. Voilà, vous savez tout.

After Oaxaca, I drove to Puerto Escondido by taxi collettivo through the mountains (7 hours, very scenic road) but I really didn’t like it (dangerous sea, empty restaurants, brutal heat, ridiculous tourist shops) so I returned to Oaxaca presto. What I did like was Monte Albán, which is according to Wikipedia (don’t judge!) a large pre-Columbian archaeological site in the Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán Municipality in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. The site is located on a low mountainous range rising above the plain in the central section of the Valley of Oaxaca. The present-day state capital Oaxaca City is located approximately 9 km (6 mi) east of Monte Albán.
